CLC Striders
The Bugatti Beer 10km Road Race 05 Aug 2009
The CLC Striders had 20 runners at the Bugatti road race which featured 10km of relentless hills followed by the reward of a beer and burger at the finish line.
First home for the club was Will Ferguson demonstrating his excellent form in a time of 34.30 and achieving fourth place overall. Fast improving Rich Dare was next in a time of 36.54 and 14th place overall; closely followed by Wayne Usher in a time of 37.00 and 16th place overall. Other notable performances from the men were achieved by Chris Hale (40.24) and Lee Burge (40.49) who both powered home in 36th and 39th place respectively.
Not to be outdone by the boys, the women also achieved some strong performances. Nina Oates sped home in a time of 43.42 gaining a well earned 4th place in the junior/senior women category (77th place overall) Rachel Vines was next to finish for the women in a time of 44.32. Louise Inchley also ran well, finishing in a more than respectable time of 52.23.
The mens team were 4th and the womens 5th.
