Striders Cross Country Handicap 4.2-Mile Race 09 January 2010

CLC Striders held a Fun handicap race at Pitville park Saturday 9th Jan 2010 due to the Gloucestershire County Cross Country Championships Being Cancelled due to the inclement weather.

Twenty Athletes took part over a 4.2 mile course which consisted of four laps of approximately 1 mile through deep snow. Highly respected Coach Dave Newport had several of his Athletes taking part which created an extra special bonding between us all on this very cold morning.

The first three athletes to finish using the handicap system were Emily Merrick, Dave Roper and Rich Dare. Special thanks goes out to Mike Simpson for recording the times of every runner, and to Penny Ferguson for supplying us with some delicious flap jacks to enjoy afterwards.
